Charles BERRIN attended the second annual Hip Hop Dance Battle competition held at The Théâtre de l'Avant-Seine in Colombes, France.

"Shall we dance?" An invitation and a challenge.  Hip-hop dance battles are an organized cacophony of dancers spinning, leaping and defying gravity in flurries of arms and legs. Whoops and roars from the audience fuse with the music. The atmosphere is electric.   North and West African origins with Spanish and Gallic overtones represents the essence of the French hip hop culture.  A European spin on an American import.   France took Rap and Hip Hop and made them its own.

Christian and Paul RECINOS (CM productions) , and their new associate Baptiste GULOVER, with support from the City of Colombes Department of Youth and Children (Rabah Fedjah) had a major success with this second annual competition.  The competitors came from all over the country and were amazing acrobats and gymnasts incorporating various dance styles ranging from poppin, locking, breaking, and moonwalking to tap to salsa."

This years winning duo, Giovanni LEOCADIE and Brice LARRIEU (members of Primates) are being considered to participate in a youth exchange program in 2006 that is currently being discussed between BERRIN/SPCDC and  Colombes' Vice Mayor for Children and Youth, Bruno GOUALLOU.
